“In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”

Proverbs 3:6

Welcome

Welcome to Modest Fitness, your resource for proven information and practices to help you achieve optimal health – without leaving God out of the equation.

I believe by combining the latest science-backed practices in nutrition and fitness, with enduring, proven Christian principles, we can set up not just ourselves, but our spouses, children, family, church and wider community for the best health possible.

Why Modest Fitness?

When I became a Christian after a decade of working in the secular fitness industry, I got a clear look at the field I had once loved and realized there was little space for Christians who did not want to compromise on their morals in order to get healthy, prioritize their health and achieve longevity.

Modest Fitness is a place you can come for real information on how to improve your lifestyle while remaining true to your beliefs.

My Approach

There are a few ideas that are foundational to everything I share here at Modest Fitness..

We were fearfully and wonderfully made. You were not designed to be in poor health your entire life. We, as a society, have just lost our way when it comes to knowing the importance of nutrition, exercise, and taking care of your body. Thankfully, God has already provided us with so much of what we need to heal and be healthy, from the foods we need to eat to the systems innate to our body’s design. God designed our bodies with a miraculous ability to heal and overcome, but it is up to us to practice the lifestyle habits that will allow this to take place.

The most helpful resource is one that puts you in the driver’s seat of your own health and healing journey. Too many health educators want to create a system of lifelong dependency with clients. This is true everywhere from the pharmaceutical industry down to your every-day nutritionists and personal trainers. They make money when they keep you coming back for more “help” year after year. Now, while I fully believe in the good and benefits of each of these industries (ones I myself am a part of), I don’t believe in this approach of keeping the best information tied up behind expensive paywalls, or making clients believe they can never achieve results on their own. Here I share freely the information clients once paid me in the thousands for, because I believe to truly help people means to educate them and empower them to take matters into their own hands.

A Lifelong Journey

After working with hundreds of clients over the years, of all ages and backgrounds, as well as maintaining my own health journey, I know this race is a marathon and not a sprint. For most people, changing their habits around nutrition and healthy living is not an overnight process. It is a process of learning new information, observing one’s patterns and tendencies in life, and making the choice again and again to choose a better way to live. It can at times be frustrating, exhausting, and seemingly impossible. I know, because I’ve been there too. However, it is also deeply rewarding, fulfilling and liberating. It can also be fun and enjoyable with the right approach and mindset along the way.

I truly hope Modest Fitness can be a helpful resource to you on your healthy living journey.
